Spirit of Detroit Crewneck

The Spirit of Detroit, front to back. The seated figure from Woodward Avenue wraps around this crewneck in bold black on a teal zigzag ground: the family he holds out sits on the front, and the gilded sphere with its rays lands across the back. Every angle shows a different part of the statue.

Each sweatshirt is printed, precision-cut and hand-sewn to order, so the design runs across the seams instead of stopping at them. The face has a soft, cotton feel and the inside is brushed fleece, so it’s warm enough for a Detroit fall and easy to wear all winter.

In the statue’s left hand, a gilded sphere for God. In its right, a family for every human relationship. It has stood outside the city’s municipal center on Woodward since 1958.
